Sasha Oden – Schönaich

I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on building communities while connecting with the mind and body.

My name is Sasha Oden; I am a Clinical Social Work student pursuing my Master of Social Work at the University of South Florida. I am excited to begin my field placement with Therapy In Reality.

Before coming to Germany, I lived in Okinawa, Japan, for three years. During this time, I was fortunate to immerse myself in the culture and connect with those from different communities.

This, combined with growing up as the child of an immigrant Latin mother in the United States, has laid a strong foundation for my understanding and appreciation of diverse backgrounds.

I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on building communities while connecting with the mind and body. A strong community and support system is critical to improving overall mental health. My goals after graduating consist of helping the military community, specifically military spouses. I feel spouses get overlooked due to the primary focus being on the active-duty member or their children.

As I continue my journey toward becoming a licensed clinical social worker, I eagerly await the opportunities to connect with individuals on a profound level. My warm and welcoming demeanor extends to all, and I genuinely look forward to getting to know those I encounter. In my commitment to holistic healing, cultural competence, and advocacy for the military community, I hope to leave a lasting mark in social work.
