I believe in a holistic approach to counselling, taking into account the mind, body, and spirit.
My name is Cassaundra (or Cass), I am a Canadian expat who has lived in Germany for the past eight years. I am currently in the practicum portion of my Masters in Counselling Psychology degree, and I am fortunate to be working as a clinical intern here at Therapy in Reality.
After graduation in Spring 2024, I will be seeking accreditation as a Canadian
Certified Counsellor (CCC) from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
As a counsellor-in-training, I will be working from an Integrative, Culturally Sensitive, and
Trauma Informed Approach.
This entails utilizing different theoretical approaches and techniques that best suit my client’s specific needs. Further, I believe in a holistic approach to counselling, taking into account the mind, body, and spirit. This approach seeks to treat the entire individual to encourage healing, growth, and transformation.
I endeavour to provide a warm, compassionate, open presence, and a safe space for my
clients. I believe collaboration is key in the therapeutic process. My therapeutic approach inclinations are primarily psychodynamic, emotionally-focussed, narrative, and existential,
but I also use cognitive-behaviour and solutions-focussed when fitting.
I especially enjoy working with issues related to expat life, maternal mental health, and couples.
My qualifications include: BA in Philosophical Theology and Human Relations in
Spirituality from St. Paul University/University of Ottawa (Canada), Certificate in Psychodynamic Couple Counselling from Tavistock Relations (London), and a Professional
Addiction Studies Certificate from McMaster University (Canada). I am currently in the
process of completing a MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and
training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
